Jester Montague Green

This, the first jester and was built for local installation on a green in Kingsdown,. It had been decided amongst a group of residents, that a piece of sculpture would make a fine greeting to the neighbourhood.

However the story of the jester is long, covered in red tape & some pain. Reaction to the installation of the jester was huge with a vast majority in support. However a very small, but loud minority managed to squash the whole endeavour of erecting a locally produced piece of Public Art, it seems mostly because he didn't have any pants on!!

He now stands on a terrace at a bar in Nailsworth.
